- The Purring Parrot® opened in Sept of 2008 and is an avian and feline retail resort located in San Diego, CA. Our focus is to enhance the bond between animal companions and humans. We learn so much from our guests everyday and they show their appreciatation with purrs and chatter. With this blog we hope to share our on going observations and education with anyone interested.
The Purring Parrot®
The employees of the Purring Parrot are: Maria and Patrick Brinson-Owners and Human Slaves that appease the whims of our guests. General Manager of Cat entertainment: SodaPop, African Grey- entertains cats. Flock Leader: Merlin, Blue and Gold macaw, helps keep aviary under control. Hall Moniter, Bean, Bare-Eyed cockatoo, does cat room flybys, assists Merlin and sometimes preens SodaPop. Jupiter, an Un-Cape parrot, has been trained for Assistant Manager to SodaPop to help with Cat Entertainment. Sunny, is our newest bird employee and the last bird hire for awhile. She is a 20 year old greenwing macaw, a world traveller and will be assisting Bean as a room moniter for the Canopy room. She also likes to get down and test out cat carriers for durability.
During our peak times we have some wonderful animal caretakers that help us out.
